Historical Background: Originally served as the capital of the Angkorian civilisation from 802 to 850 AD before the Khmer kings moved the capital elsewhere. It holds deep cultural and historical importance.
Main Attractions at the Top of Kulen Mountain, 1000 Lingkas

These are representations of male genitalia dedicated to Hindu gods, created by Khmer ancestors as part of a sacred prayer cult believed to invoke blessings from the river. They symbolise fertility and divine power. Reclining Buddha and Religious Statues

A majestic reclining Buddha statue, erected in the 16th century from a large piece of natural stone, offers spiritual serenity and historical insight.

Preah Khan
 was built in the reign of Buddhist king Jayavaraman 7 in the late 12th century.
Neak Paon: one of 102 hospitals that was built in the late 12th century by King Jayavaraman 7 that is located in the middle of North Baray (water reservoir) with the beautiful single tower.
Ta Som is one temple in the same group of Preah Khan that still has the beautiful entry gate with the four smiling faces of Buddha in Mahayana Buddhism (Lokesvara)
East Mebon: after we finish with Tasom temple we keep moving to other temples named East Mebon, as the Hindu temple that is older than Angkor Wat. This temple is a bit different from other temples because it was made from brick, sandstone and laterite stones. Its Hindu temple was built in the mid-10th century.
Pre Rup: this temple is also a Hindu temple the same king who built Eastmebon temple. But the function of this is the state temple that was used to pray by the king himself. And a bit younger than East Mebon (9 years) and was built in the late 10th century.
Banteay Srei (pink sandstone) is a beautiful temple with different architecture from other temples. And this temple really is nicely decorated with the beautiful carving and made from the pink sandstone. Also, a Hindu temple was built in the late 10th century.
Banteay Samre: is the Hindu temple of the same king of Angkor Wat and dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu. It was built in the 12th century. It’s a quiet place and nice to see.

*Please be aware that to visit several of our temples, you must wear appropriate clothing. This implies that your shirt cannot be sleeveless (make sure your top covers your shoulders, no singlets), and your slacks or skirt should cover your knees. Otherwise, the Temple Authority will not permit you to enter or ascend. Due to the extremely hot and humid weather from March to July, it is advised to wear light cotton clothing and comfortable walking shoes. We advise you to pack your camera charger so you may use it to recharge it at the restaurant during your lunch break.
